At Solidzymes we help customers find the best way to leverage their enzymes.

Carriers

Since the effective application of immobilized glucose isomerase for producing corn syrup in the 1960s the market for enzyme carriers has expanded steadily. There are now hundreds of supports available commercially, and many more on the horizon. Selecting the right carrier for your process, can be challenging. At Solidzymes we have a large selection of carriers and the expertise to match our customers to the best one for their needs.

Conditions

After immobilization on a carrier enzymes sometimes behave differently than expected. If this happens then the reaction conditions need to be re-optimized for your new biocatalyst. Solidzymes can test your material in many conditions simultaneously.

Reactors

It is a good idea to test prototype reactors before scaling up. Mimicking the conditions of your proposed process in this way can prevent unfortunate surprises such as problems with feed concentration, reactor clogging, or microbial contamination. Solidzymes can help you prepare by testing your biocatalyst in a realistic scaled-down process.

An enzyme carrier reduces costs by allowing many re-uses of your enzymatic catalyst. In addition, it prevents the mingling of enzymes into the product. Finally, carriers sometimes enable higher yields by increasing the lifetime of enzymes in desirable solvents, temperatures, or pHs.
