Dr. Jonathan Wagner founded Solidzymes in 2024 to pursue his passion for biocatalyst development. Jonathan has eleven years of academic experience researching a variety of enzymes and six years of experience developing immobilized enzymes. More details are available on LinkedIn.
The Lab
Solidzymes is equipped with everything needed to produce and test your enzymes both in solution and immobilized on solid supports. Our enzyme production facility is equipped for protein expression in E. Coli and purification up to grams of protein. For immobilization purposes we have a large collection of commercially available enzyme supports from top brands including Amberlite, Cascade Bio, DIAION, Doulite, Ecovyst, Indion, Lewatit, Relizyme, and Seplife.

Most enzyme immobilization companies offer products for enzyme immobilization. But Solidzymes is strictly a service that matches customers to already existing materials. Where else will you get unbiased testing of all available materials to see which brand works for you?
How do you decide how much a project costs?
We ask you for a description of the work you want done. Then calculate the cost of time and materials in order to give you a quote. Typically, you make partial payments at the start and end of a project.
What if the work is for a patent?
We keep your information confidential. Intellectual property resulting from projects will be owned by the company that funds it. Solidzymes can support your patent application with reports and examples from the project.
Can you Scale up our project?
On-site at Solidzymes we offer lab scale testing up to tens of liters per reaction. We have experience supporting tech transfer from lab up to thousands of liters, however, this takes place at a customer’s pilot facility or plant.
Will you produce my enzyme for me?
Absolutely! We can express and purify the enzyme(s) for your immobilization project, or for any research project. We offer fast delivery of recombinant proteins for use here at Solidzymes or wherever your project is taking place.
