Dupont Q&A

  1. What year did your company begin manufacturing materials for enzyme
    immobilization?

DuPont has been manufacturing materials for enzyme immobilization since 1985.
  2. Can you give some historical background about your company – how/why did
it become a producer of enzyme immobilization materials?

DuPont has a long-standing role in supplying advanced separation and purification
technologies to the food and beverage industry. We specialize in ion exchange resins
and membranes for processes such as deashing, chromatography, product
concentration, and polishing. As enzyme-driven processes became integral to this
sector, such as converting corn starch into dextrose and fructose, producing oils and
glycerides, and enabling the development of low-calorie sweeteners like allulose and
tagatose, the need for robust, efficient enzyme handling grew. To address this, we
expanded our ion exchange resin product offering into enzyme immobilization,
leveraging our expertise in polymer chemistry and surface engineering to deliver
solutions that enhance process stability, improve yield, and support continuous
    operation in industrial-scale applications.
  3. What industries do you supply?
DuPont Water Solutions delivers one of the most comprehensive portfolios of water
treatment and separation technologies across multiple industries. Our proven
membranes and ion exchange resins support applications in water and wastewater
treatment, food and beverage processing, bioprocessing, dairy, and more. These
solutions can help address complex water challenges while enabling efficient operations
and improving quality of life for people, plants, and animals worldwide.
  4. What is the maximum batch size your company can produce?
DuPont has the capability to produce enzyme carrier resins at scale, with batch sizes
reaching several hundred cubic meters at a time.
  5. What is your standard lead time?
Our standard lead time for enzyme immobilization resins is 6-8 weeks.
  6. What makes your materials special?
Our resins are the result of decades of research and development, engineered with
optimized surface chemistry and controlled porosity to accommodate a wide range of
enzyme sizes and functionalities. This precision design ensures high binding efficiency
and stability across diverse applications. While every enzyme has unique
characteristics, our team brings deep expertise in tailoring solutions for isomerases,
lipases, amylases, transferases, and many others, which can help achieve consistent
    performance and process reliability.
  7. Anything else you want people to know?
Our products are supported by a global network of hundreds of technical experts who
not only supply materials but also collaborate to help solve complex challenges. From
enzyme immobilization to separation, purification, and concentration, we provide
tailored solutions along with consulting and process optimization support to help
achieve efficiency, reliability, and scalability across the entire operation.
