What Type of Service?
We want to make your project quick and seamless.

Sequence Design Services
It is important to start with the right protein sequence. We can help design the best sequence for your experiment by reading relevant articles, adding fusion proteins or tags, and ordering the correctly cloned DNA sequence. We can send the DNA plasmid to you or keep it here at Solidzymes for your protein expression project.

expression and purification Services
Proteins expressed in E. Coli are dissolved in the cell cytosol meaning crude samples contain other proteins, DNA, RNA, and thousands of other assorted biomolecules that might affect the outcome of experiments. We offer protein purification services to separate your protein of interest from the cell lysate. Often, this means protein expression with 6X His tags followed by metal affinity purification. Then we follow up with ion exchange or size exclusion purification as needed. You can choose which purification steps you want so that you only pay for what you need.

High Density expression and Purification Services
We offer protein expression in a five liter benchtop fermenter. This allows E. Coli cultures up to the equivalent of fifty liters of shake flask culture. High-density fermentation is a great way to produce grams of protein for large experiments or for many small experiments that need a consistent supply of protein from your freezer. We can deliver the protein to your doorstep as frozen liquid or lyophilized powder.

Enzyme activity Optimization Services
The conditions encountered by an enzyme during production, purification, and immobilization can have profound effects on the activity and stability of the resulting biocatalyst. We can optimize the activity of your enzyme by testing important variables like temperature, pH, solvent, and substrate concentration. This is a great service for those interested in testing engineered enzymes, setting up high throughput in vitro screening assays, or preparing for pilot scale enzyme reactors. Activity optimization project costs vary widely depending on the number of reactions and reagents required. Please contact us to start a conversation and get a free quote.

Enzyme Homolog Screening Services
It is crucial to choose the right protein homolog for your biocatalysis project. Different species have adapted enzymes that catalyze the same reaction but with widely variable specificities and reaction rates. In addition, different species homologs may be produced at very different levels when expressed in a new host such as E. Coli. Finally, enzyme homologs from different species or organs reflect the conditions that they evolved to operate in, and this can be used to choose appropriate enzyme sequences for your desired reaction conditions. We can guide your selection of enzyme homologs by putting them to the test in our lab.

Enzyme Carrier Screening Services
If you need to immobilize your enzymes then it is crucial to select the right enzyme immobilization support material. There are now hundreds of enzyme carriers available commercially, and many more on the horizon. At Solidzymes we are familiar with the industry and have a large selection of enzyme carriers from top brand names. Importantly, we have the unbiased expertise needed to match our customers to the best materials for their needs.

Immobilized Enzyme yield optimization Services
Testing immobilized enzyme activity can be challenging, but we have the experience to do it efficiently. Once a good enzyme carrier is identified we can test a variety of conditions for immobilization such as enzyme loading, pH, and temperature. We will re-use your new biocatalyst in batch mode or continuously operate it in a packed bed reactor format. We carefully compare the reaction rate and stability over time to identify the recipe that gets the most out of your enzymes.
